A traineeship means you learn practical skills with an employer as well as formal learning with RETS and get a nationally recognised qualification you can use anywhere. You may not have much experience when you start a traineeship, but will learn skills that will set you up for life.

Traineeships are available to anyone of working age, and most can be done full-time or part-time. As a part of your traineeship, you’ll sign a training contract with your employer to work and learn under their supervision. Training Services NSW administers these contracts. Your contract also includes training through RETS.  

 RETS guides you through the course with a Training Plan, student support, learning resources and assessments. Learning takes place on-the-job as you go about your day-to-day activities, with guidance from your employer and other employees. RETS assesses you regularly using competency-based assessment – you are ‘Competent’ or ‘Not-Yet-Competent’ at completing a task. If you are Not-Yet-Competent, you will have the opportunity to be reassessed at a later date.

The Certificate III course is most suitable for sales support staff, property management support staff and reception staff and is run as a School Based Traineeship. To successfully complete this Certificate III qualification, you must demonstrate competency in 5 core units and 9 elective units (total of 14 units). The units that are in blue are also the units that make up the Assistant Agent Certificate of Registration course.

CPPREP4004  Establish marketing and communication profiles in real estate
